RCS 3.1 Electronic Remote Control System
        

Remote Control Systems for CP-propellers and Thrusters:

 
Traditionally CP propellers have often been equipped with remote control.
The first ones had a crank on the bridge that was connected to the piston of the propeller via mechanical links. This worked only on quite small propellers so soon the pneumatic control system was invented
Today electronic systems are most common, but hydraulic and pneumatic systems are still being installed.
The systems often control both propeller pitch and engine speed. 
     

                                  
RCS 3.1 is an electronic remote control system designed and manufactured by IPYESA/ SMP.
In the design process we have taken into account our long experience in propulsion and propulsion control.

The IPYESA/ SMP RCS is a digital programmable control system for control of propeller pitch and engine revolutions on ships of any size.

The system is designed for high accuracy, extended capabilities and easy installation, both in new buildings and as retro fit. The IPYESA/ SMP RCS is also suitable for CP bowthrusters.

Key features:
 The IPYESA/ SMP RCS is dedicated for control of pitch propellers, which makes it easy to install and cost efficient
 All functionality is handled by the same unit, no extra circuit boards or units are required for most functions
 Signals between the bridge and the engine room are multiplexed using a double, serial RS485 link
 All settings are digitally stored in flash memory. No trimmers that can changed over time exists, and settings can be copied to new unit if necessary
 NMEA 0183 style port for connection to VDR system
 Graphical user interface with Ethernet port on unit and standard PC
